도시 인프라의 재해석
Vertical ZEN은 기능 중심의 도시 구조를 가진 대치동에서 새로운 수직 공공 인프라를 제안하는 프로젝트이다. 연면적에 포함되지 않는 주차 램프를 중심 공간으로 재해석하여, 이를 수직적으로 확장된 순환 동선이자 공공 공간으로 전환한다.

사교육 밀집 지역에서 반복되는 차량 이동과 긴장된 도시 환경 속에서, 이 프로젝트는 일상적인 이동 흐름을 공간적·감정적 전환의 기회로 바라본다. 램프가 만들어내는 곡선형 보이드는 머무름의 여백을 형성하고, 수직 정원과 테라스, 반외부 공간은 휴식과 감각적 환기를 제공한다. 법적 기준을 준수하면서도 공공성을 확장하며, 도시 인프라를 회복과 사유의 공간으로 재해석한다. 

Reframing Urban Infrastructure

Vertical ZEN proposes a new type of vertical public infrastructure within the highly functional urban fabric of Daechi-dong. The project reinterprets the parking ramp—typically excluded from floor area—as a central spatial device, transforming it into a continuous vertical circulation system that generates public space.

In a district shaped by repetitive vehicular movement and academic density, the project focuses on everyday circulation as an opportunity for spatial and emotional transformation. Curved voids created by the ramp system introduce moments of pause, while vertical gardens, terraces, and semi-exterior facades provide spaces for rest and sensory relief. By integrating non-countable architectural elements, the project expands publicness within regulatory constraints and reimagines urban infrastructure as a space for recovery and reflection
