수평선 : 땅과 하늘이 만나는 곳
수평선은 자연의 본질이자 치유의 출발점이다. 끝없이 이어지는 바다는 하나의 선 위에 존재하지만, 빛과 바람, 시간에 따라 끊임없이 변화한다. 제주해양치유센터의 공간은 이러한 수평선처럼 단순하고 고요하여, 그 안에서 사람의 감정이 자연스럽게 가라앉도록 한다.

수평선은 바다와 하늘을 나누면서도 동시에 하나로 잇는 경계이다. 이 선은 외부의 자연을 내부로 끌어들이며, 바다의 고요함은 건축의 수면과 빛을 통해 이어진다. 이곳에서 모든 시선은 결국 수평선을 향하고, 공간은 바다의 움직임과 함께 호흡한다.

한편, 지평선은 땅이 하늘을 향해 마지막으로 맞닿는 경계이자, 도시와 자연, 사람과 건축이 만나는 지점이다. 이 선 위에서 방문객, 여행자, 지역 주민은 서로 다른 삶의 흐름을 공유하며 하나의 장소에서 교차한다.

낮은 지붕선과 따뜻한 재료, 열린 마당은 땅의 온기를 담아내고 바다를 향한 시선을 이끈다. 수평선과 지평선은 동시에 시각적·감정적 출발점이 되어, 바깥으로 향하는 여정과 내면으로 돌아오는 사유를 함께 만든다. 이곳에서 사람은 자연과 다시 연결되고, 땅과 하늘의 경계 위에서 스스로의 리듬을 되찾는다.

Horizon: Where Sea Meets Sky

The horizon represents both the essence of nature and the beginning of healing. Though it stretches endlessly as a single line, the sea constantly transforms with light, wind, and time. Like this horizontal expanse, the space of the Jeju Healing Center is simple and serene, allowing emotions to settle naturally.

The horizon is both a boundary and a connection—separating the sea and sky while uniting them as one. It draws the vastness of nature inward, where the calm of the ocean is reflected through architectural surfaces and light. Here, every gaze ultimately returns to the horizon, and the space breathes in rhythm with the movement of the sea.

At the same time, the ground line—the meeting edge between land and sky—marks a point of transition. It is where city and nature, people and architecture intersect. Along this line, visitors, travelers, and locals share a common space, each following different paths that converge in a single place.

Through low rooflines, warm materials, and open courtyards, the architecture embraces the warmth of the earth and frames views toward the sea. The horizon becomes both a visual and emotional starting point—guiding outward journeys while inviting inward reflection. Here, people reconnect with nature and rediscover their own rhythm at the boundary between earth and sky.
