연결과 분리의 다양한 농도
이 프로젝트는 경계를 고정된 선이 아닌, 다양한 ‘농도’를 가진 상태로 탐구한다. 창문, 현관과 같은 일상 속 경계를 관찰하는 것에서 출발하여, 경계가 어떻게 흐려지고 중첩되며 감각적으로 인식될 수 있는지를 실험한다.

파빌리온은 끊기지 않고 이어지는 리본 형태의 요소들로 구성되며, 이러한 파츠들은 상황에 따라 조합될 수 있는 유연한 시스템을 이룬다. 요소의 밀도에 따라 공간의 개방성과 폐쇄성이 변화하며, 경계는 투명해지거나, 투과되거나, 혹은 강하게 형성된다.

안양파빌리온 인근에 배치된 이 프로젝트는 주변 환경과 연결되며, 이동, 휴식, 소규모 모임, 전시 등 다양한 활동을 수용한다. 고정된 구분이 아닌 ‘농도’의 차이를 통해 공간을 구성함으로써, 연결과 분리 사이의 관계를 새롭게 제안하는 건축적 장치로 작동한다.


Varying Degrees of Separation and Connection

This project explores the concept of boundary as a condition with varying degrees of intensity rather than a fixed line. Beginning from observations of everyday thresholds—such as windows, entrances, and subtle spatial transitions—the design investigates how boundaries can become ambiguous, layered, and experiential.

The pavilion is composed of continuous, ribbon-like elements that twist and extend through space, forming a flexible system of modular parts. These components can be assembled in different configurations, creating spaces with varying levels of openness and enclosure. As the density of elements increases or decreases, the boundary shifts—becoming more transparent, permeable, or defined.

Located adjacent to the Anyang Pavilion, the project functions as an extension of the surrounding environment, guiding visitors through sequences of movement, rest, and gathering. It accommodates diverse programs, including exhibition, small group interaction, and relaxation. Ultimately, the project proposes architecture as a dynamic system that negotiates between connection and separation through spatial gradients rather than rigid divisions.
