기존 공간의 해석과 재구성을 통한 새로운 사용자 경험 제안
본 워크샵은 한양대학교 ERICA 건축설계학회 Plus Alpha에서 주관하고, 공학대학의 의뢰를 받아 진행된 실내 공간 리노베이션 프로젝트이다. 기존 공간을 단순히 개선하는 수준을 넘어, 프로그램, 동선, 가구 요소를 하나의 통합된 시스템으로 재조합하는 것을 목표로 하였다.

학생들은 대상 공간의 현황을 분석하고 사용자 경험을 기반으로 기능 간 관계를 재정의하며, 공간의 구조를 재구성하였다. 워크샵은 두 개의 그룹으로 나누어 진행되었으며, 각 그룹은 서로 다른 전략과 설계 접근을 바탕으로 두 가지 대안을 도출하였다.

각 안은 평면 계획, 공간 구성, 가구 시스템, 디테일 설계까지 통합적으로 발전되었으며, 정교한 모델과 고해상도 렌더링 이미지를 통해 설계 의도를 구체적으로 시각화하였다. 이후 두 대안의 장점을 종합적으로 검토하여, 이를 통합한 최종 설계안이 도출되었으며, 해당 안을 기반으로 실제 리모델링이 진행될 예정이다.


Rewriting Space: An Experiment in Experiential Renovation

This workshop was organized by Plus Alpha, the architectural design association at Hanyang University ERICA, and commissioned by the College of Engineering. The project focused on the renovation of an existing interior space, aiming to reassemble spatial systems by integrating programs, circulation, and furniture into a cohesive framework rather than simply improving the existing condition.

The students analyzed current spatial conditions and redefined relationships between functions based on user experience, leading to a reconfiguration of the overall spatial structure. The workshop was conducted in two groups, each developing a distinct proposal based on different strategies and design approaches.

Both proposals were developed comprehensively, including spatial layout, program organization, furniture systems, and architectural detailing. The design intentions were visualized through refined physical models and high-quality renderings. By synthesizing the strengths of the two proposals, a final integrated scheme was produced, which is planned to be implemented as the actual renovation project.
